There’s Joy in Planning for the Future

Life Changes: Plan for It. That’s the motto of the law firm of Morgan and DiSalvo. I visited Loraine DiSalvo this week to get more information about how to best plan for the future. We talked about wills, advance health directives (the new term in Georgia for the living will), durable power of attorney (now part of the Advanced Health Care directive), and more.

There’s Joy in Volunteering: CASA

If you would like to discover the rewards of giving back, and need some ideas about great places to start, this month I’m doing a series highlighting two worthy organizations: Make-A-Wish Foundation and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children). This episode focuses on CASA for Children, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children. Connie Stephens, the Executive Director of CASA for the Hall County-Dawson County region, explains all about CASA, and how to get involved. One of the children who has benefited from the CASA program shares a poem she has written about her experiences.

There’s Joy in Volunteering: Make-A-Wish Foundation

There’s Joy in Having a Healthy Heart

Since February is Heart Month, I visited the American Heart Association’s office in Atlanta, Georgia, and spoke to Sharon Masinelli, a physician’s assistant, to learn more about heart issues in women and how they can be prevented. More women die of heart disease than men now, and it is the number one killer of women.

There’s Joy in Sharing Sweets with Your Sweetheart

There’s Joy in Caring for Your Skin: Part II

My visit to the skin care spa continues in this episode, as I receive a facial treatment, including proper makeup removal, toner with kojic acid and vitamin C,eye gel, hydrating serum with peptides, a three tea moisturizer, and sunscreen. I am also briefly introduced to the tools for machine assisted skin care, and learn the difference between hair removal using electrolysis compared with laser removal.
