The author is a southern native, and the book takes place in the south, with language and settings that will be familiar to those with similar backgrounds. The heroine, an interior designer, begins the book with a “hissy fit”, as she confronts her fiance caught in the middle of an affair on the day of her wedding. The book ends with another couple marrying, and clearly a path laid for her own wedding.
